This otr opening gives drivers 2–3 weeks out with 3–4 days home, company flatbed/open deck freight, and estimated weekly earnings of $1,500–$2,100.
Pay and Earnings
• $1,000 orientation completion pay after completing orientation
• Flatbed accessorial pay may include tarping, OD pay, detention, pickups, drops, layover, and TONU when billed
• $1,400 minimum weekly guarantee for the first 12 weeks when all rules are met
• Estimated weekly earnings: $1,500–$2,100
Schedule and Home Time
• Typical home time is 3–4 days after the time out
• Some hiring areas may require a full 3-week stretch before home time
• Flatbed freight flow can change by region and season
• Most flatbed drivers are out 2–3 weeks at a time
Freight and Operating Area
• Freight may include building materials, construction equipment, oversized freight, and specialized loads
• Load securement and tarping may be required
• Flatbed drivers need to be comfortable working outside around the trailer
• Flatbed/open deck freight
Equipment
• Flatbed or heavy-haul work may require chains, binders, straps, tarps, flags, banners, and securement gear
• Company trucks are generally within the last three years
• Camera system is outward-facing
• Late-model Freightliner, Peterbilt, and occasional Volvo equipment
Orientation
• Orientation location: Porter, IN
• Single-room hotel lodging begins Sunday evening
• Transportation is arranged by rental car or flight
• Three meals per day are provided until certified
• Drug test is urine only
• Orientation normally starts Monday and runs about 2.5–3 days
Responsibilities
• Keep logs, trip updates, and paperwork current
• Communicate with dispatch on pickup, delivery, and home-time needs
• Secure flatbed freight and complete load checks as required
• Run assigned freight safely and on schedule
Qualifications
• Experienced drivers only; no students or recent graduates
• Must meet the current hiring-area map for this route
• CDL address requirements may need to be corrected before or shortly after orientation
• SAP drivers are not accepted
• Must be comfortable with flatbed securement and tarping when required
